Tom has made over 5000 jumps since he started skydiving back in 1981. He won his first jump course in a raffle. He is also the drop zone S&TA, a Static Line Instructor and Evaluator, Coach, and Videographer. He was a World Team member in 2004 and 2006. He is a world record holder: 357 way record jumps and mass jumps in Thailand. 900 skydivers and 672 skydivers. He holds multiple Texas records for skydiving including the current 150 way. He was part of the Pops world record 100, and has also been a US nationals competitor for 4-way, and also a regional 20 way competitor. Silver Falcon award # 74, Golden eagle award # 110, Night 4 stack award #407. Tom is a very down to earth owner and always willing to share his experiences and knowledge on a personal one to one level. He is always working with the staff and students to make sure that Skydive Westex remains a safe and fun place to skydive.
Chris is a 2nd generation skydiver that currently holds both a sigma and strong rating as a tandem instructor. He is also a Static Line Instructor, coach, videographer, and organizer at the drop zone. He is an extreme canopy pilot and also a Texas record 150 way holder. Chris is a Guinness book World record holder for mass freefall 900 skydivers. He jumped with alpha team in Thailand on the 2006 World Team. Chris has over 2200 jumps, a D license and is Pro rated. He is happily married to his beautiful wife Tabatha and they have a son named Michael. Michael is obsessed with airplanes and can't wait until he is big enough to jump with his daddy.
Ryan is a natural that has been skydiving since college. He began skydiving in Ohio and was transfered to Southern Illinois for his job where he continued to work as a pilot and skydiving instructor on the weekends. He has joined Skydive Westex after his most recent relocation and we are blessed for his dedication, knowledge, and compassion for the drop zone. When he is not at the skydiving center or working Ryan enjoys watching the food network and playing baseball.
Allen started jumping in the Army in 1966, then came back to the sport at Skydive Westex in 1992. Allen currently holds a USPA D-License and is currently our primary tandem instructor while Chris and Ryan are deployed. Allen can been seen around the drop zone training new students, packing tandem rigs, and organizing fun jumps. He is a full time pilot, and can even be seen flying the jump plane on occasion.
Luis made his first jump back in 2000 and has been a rigger since 2004. He has made over 3800+ skydives and is an extreme canopy pilot as well. He is always fixing something around the dropzone and can get your reserved re-packed with a very quick turn around time at a reasonable price. He can be contacted for any rigging need or canopy courses. When he's not working he's a master at Call of Duty and Black Ops.
Chad is a second generation skydiver that has been at the dropzone since he father started jumping when he was 2 years old. He began jumping himself in 2003 and to date has over 700 jumps and his D license. He is hoping to compete at the swoop competitions in the future and is proud of his new Velo 84. When Chad is not at the dropzone or working he loves spending time with his beautiful wife Mickey and son Braxton.
Alisha began skydiving in 2007 near St. Louis to overcome her extreme fear of heights. She took a little over a year off due to a non-skydiving related injury, but has been making great strides since her return to skydiving in 2010. She recently obtained her USPA instructor ratings and hopes to one day become a tandem instructor and compete on a 4-way team at Nationals. Alisha can be seen running around the dropzone with mismatched socks and a smile on her face.
Phil made his first skydive so that he wouldn't look back later in life and say, "I wish I'd done that while I was younger". One skydive led to two skydives, and now he has joined the Skydive Westex team as a USPA coach. Phil is also the founder of the Texas Tech Air Raiders skydiving club. He is very hungry for knowledge and tries to get on every load possible.
Ram Rod started off at Skydive Westex as a pilot and has been taking on more tasks ever since. He made his first skydive in 2008 and now has over 300 jumps to his name. He is often seen running around the drop zone packing student gear and tandems, doing tandem videos, and flying the occasional load to give our other pilots a break. Nathan aquired the nickname "Ram Rod" because of his hard work and dedication to the drop zone over the years. He was also was awarded the Judy award in March 2010 for his committment to safe skydiving. Nathan is a full time pilot and avid pandora listener when he is not working at the skydiving center.
Will Gregg is a second generation skydiver who started skydiving in 2007 at Skydive North Texas. He learned everything he knows of skydiving from his dad and brother. Will has over 300 jumps and holds his C license as well as his SCR, and SCS awards. Will loves to shoot videos and jumping in general, and hopes to become a tandem instructor asap! If will is not at the drop zone he is as TSTC studying to be a Wind Technician.
Kristyn came out to Skydive Westex to make a tandem and was hooked by the sport immediately. She joined the Westex team to help packing and is currently working on her own A-license.
